Vanderwolf Smoke BBQ was built on passion, perseverance, and one incredible love story.

Husband-and-wife team John and Crystal Vanderwolf each bring their own strengths to the business. John is the Pitmaster, dedicated to crafting authentic barbecue low and slow, while Crystal keeps everything running behind the scenes, making sure every order makes it from the smoker to your table.

Their journey together goes far beyond barbecue. In December 2025, Crystal donated her kidney to John—a life-changing gift that proved they were quite the match in more ways than one.

That experience reminded them that life is too short to keep putting dreams on hold. So they took a leap of faith and turned John’s passion for barbecue into the family business they had always envisioned.

Today, every meal they serve is made with gratitude, heart, and the belief that the best memories are created around great food. They’re honored to share their passion with the community, one smoke at a time.
